Candiani Denim
It is not just its reputation as the "greenest weaving mill in Europe" that precedes the family business, which is run by Alberto Candiani in the fourth generation. It is also the incomparably smooth left-hand twill denims that give our jeans styles a particularly comfortable feel and are a real example of how sustainability and fashion are not mutually exclusive.
What began as a small denim selection has now become an integral part of the LANIUS collection. We didn't miss the opportunity to photograph the new styles exclusively at Candiani in the Parco de Ticino nature reserve in Lombardy. Discover our sustainable denim key looks and matching, fashionable styling ideas for the season transition here.

behind the scenes at candiani
This season, our shoot took us to the Milan region in northern Italy. This gave us the wonderful opportunity to visit our long-standing, valued production partner, the Candiani weaving mill. As you may know, it is very important to us to get to know the companies and people we work with personally.
The premises of the denim manufacturer, which employs 600 people, are located in the middle of the Ticino Nature Park and are a real example of how sustainability and fashion are not mutually exclusive. We were very enthusiastic about the opportunity to photograph our new denim looks on site in the authentic environment of the weaving machines and warehouses.
Interview with Alberto Candiani
"To be honest, I haven't really had to transform Candiani into a more environmentally friendly business - I'm just trying to perfect it, fully aware that perfection doesn't exist, or at least isn't really achievable. But that's the challenge I love most, and the struggle that keeps everything interesting."
Our Sustainability Manager Cornelia Westfehling accompanied the shooting team and summarizes:
"I am impressed by Candiani's history: the family business was founded in 1938 and is still located exactly where it all began - in what is now the Parco naturale della Valle del Ticino. Since the 1970s, strict environmental regulations have been in place here, which presented the already well-known and successful company with the challenge of carrying out a green transformation. During my tour of the company, which, like us, is GOTS-certified, I saw and felt the passion for sustainable development at every turn."
