Video tutorial/pilling

With favorite items made of natural fibers like wool, they suddenly appear - these small knots called "pilling" that are simply caused by friction on the surface. To remove the pilling knots, you can use a lint shaver or cut them off with fine scissors. But be careful: if the knots are torn off, the fiber can be damaged. Favorite items with fine, long hair can be brushed up from time to time.

Wash

Low temperatures and reduced spin speeds as well as washing bags for wool and silk are highly recommended. In addition, it is best to wash your clothes together with similar colors and always inside out. Close all buttons and zippers to avoid damage during washing. Use bleach-free, liquid detergents for delicates. They dissolve better than heavy-duty detergents and are gentle on the fibers without affecting the washing performance.

Ventilate

A wonderful care tip that is very easy to implement: Not every piece of clothing that is worn needs to be washed immediately afterwards. It is often enough to hang your favorite item on a hanger for a while and air it for half an hour. This not only saves time and water, but also protects the environment and materials.

Iron

Ironing will bring your favorite items back into shape and smooth out the fibers of the fabrics that have become rough during the washing process. Always follow the temperature instructions on your item of clothing. For special natural fibers such as silk, but also for natural fibers such as elastane, TENCEL™ and Lenzing™ EcoVero™, we also recommend placing a damp cloth over the item of clothing and using a steam iron . Pro tip: Invest in a good ironing pad, as the metal mesh on cheap ironing boards can show through.

Video tutorial/Steaming

When steaming, the garment is shaped using hot steam. This care technique has the advantage that the fibers of the textile are not exposed to as much heat as they are when ironing. This makes a steamer an absolutely useful care tool if you want to care for particularly delicate fabrics.

Material care

  • Wash special fibre blends only in the gentle programme (delicate wash)
  • Use special detergent for cotton
  • Iron at moderate heat at max. 150 °C

Linen

  • Only load the washing machine drum halfway, otherwise the linen fabric will wrinkle too much

  • Pull into shape and dry lying down

hemp

denim

When washing jeans, the rule of thumb is: as rarely as possible! Because with every wash, both the color and the material suffer. Over time, denim develops a characteristic look, such as wrinkles and personal color gradients, which are affected by washing too often.

To the denim care guide

silk

  • Hand wash at low temperature: Wash inside out with mild silk detergent , making gentle movements in the soapy water
  • Machine wash: Wash inside out at low temperature
  • Iron while still slightly damp with a cotton cloth in between
  • Can be easily steamed using a steamer

Video tutorial/ leather

  • Remove coarse dirt with a soft leather brush or a damp cloth and never rub or scratch as this may cause irreparable damage
  • Treat leather with ecological waterproofing agent and shoe polish specially developed for the type of leather
  • Hand over heavily soiled favourite items for professional, gentle dry cleaning

Remove stains

red wine

Rub with water and apply salt (or dry shampoo for cashmere or silk) to the stain. Then carefully brush and wash. If there is a dark shadow after treatment: apply shaving foam, allow to take effect and then wash.

Coffee

Rub with mineral water or warm tap water. If the stain has already dried: put salt or baking powder on the stain and brush it out carefully. Gall soap can be used on light-colored and very insensitive items.

Fat or oil

First, soak up grease/oil with paper towels and then wash with hot water and detergent. For old stains, use gall soap (in a bar). For delicate fabrics, such as silk, alcohol can be used.

Make up

For insensitive, light or dark clothing: gall soap or baking powder. Otherwise, apply stain spray or stain remover to the stain before machine washing.

Sweat

Soak overnight in warm water with a dash of vinegar. Rinse with cold water the next day. Then wash in the washing machine as usual.

Water edges

For insensitive, light or dark clothing: Mix gall soap with plenty of warm water and rub the water marks generously with it.
