LANIUS is a real family business* based in Cologne. Claudia Lanius is the founder and designer of the brand. Together with her daughter Annabelle Homann and a strong team, she develops favorite pieces that are made to last.

LOVE FASHION / We love fashion. Twice a year, new LANIUS collections are created through the creativity of our design team in the Cologne studio. Feminine, individual and designed with great attention to detail. When developing our slow fashion, however, we only implement trends that we believe in in the long term, in colors and fits that flatter our customers. This is how our clothes become favorites.

THINK ORGANIC / We focus on sustainability and ecology: LANIUS is GOTS-certified, a member of the IVN (International Association of Natural Textile Industry) and uses mainly organic materials that are regularly checked by independent institutes. Out of love and respect for animals, we use mulesing-free wool. Our vegan fashion is "PETA-Approved Vegan" certified and bears the corresponding logo for clothing that is free from animal suffering.

BE RESPONSIBLE / We take responsibility in our collaboration with production partners, are personally on site and check the social standards carefully. The producers who make our clothes generally have certificates that ensure social standards in the company. These include: the GOTS certificate, the amfori BSCI Code of Conduct, the SA8000® standard and auditing by the Fair Wear Foundation. In addition to seals and certificates, consistent values ​​play a central role for us when selecting new producers.

Our understanding of sustainable fashion includes the interplay of fair production, high-quality materials and reflected trends.

We source our materials primarily from controlled organic farming, have them produced under fair working conditions, avoid chemicals that are harmful to health and use transport routes that are as environmentally friendly as possible. We go beyond sales and offer a care, repair and resale service to extend the life of our clothing.

Our goal: We want to give fashion back the value it deserves. In doing so, we appeal to you to give your clothes the appreciation they deserve.

Christian Rühl has been head designer at Claudia Lanius' side since 2017 and is the first man in the entire LANIUS team. He is jointly responsible for the fashion direction of the collections and masters the seasonal challenges posed by our demands for good design and sustainability.
